“It’ll be bit painful at first but with right decision you’ll get a right place and a good life.”
Kriti Garg
Kriti, who belongs to Delhi completed her graduation in B.com (program) from Bharti college, University of Delhi, in 2018.
Here’s a debrief of her interview with us-
What were your plans after graduation?
In my final year of graduation, I gave CAT, but my score wasn’t good enough to get me my dream college.
Although with CMAT, I got through Welingkar Institute of Management, but I didn’t join. Post that, I decided to give bank PO exam (SBI), and trust me on this, you’ll never feel worse enough, when you get fail just because of few numbers. I just missed it by 8 marks!
How did you get the Job?
While preparing for CFA LEVEL-1, which is almost a theoretical version of core finance, I realized that my interest is more towards the practical part of it, which includes building Financial models, among other things.
I started looking for jobs in this industry. However, before getting my hands dirty in the job search, I wanted to be well equipped with knowledge first. So, I started searching for such certifications.
While surfing through quora, I came across many positive reviews of The WallStreet school. I even talked to a few ex students who got placed through them.
My mother didn’t allowed me to join this course, at first because of the financial challenges that we were facing.
So, I started interning with a brokering house- ARCH Finance limited. But after some efforts I pleased my Mom and she agreed. I joined The Wall Street school.
How was your experience at The Wallstreet School?
After stepping over the obstacles, I joined The Wall Street school and I must say, I really had a good experience, with lots of networking.
And the mock interviews that they’ve provided were just really to-the-point. And most importantly, I got to know what really happens in the corporate world through the ‘core practical’ workshops that were taken by Himanshu sir. Also, Vikas Vohra, Mohit Singh and Anmol Dhawan (Placement coordinator) were the saviours who guided me throughout the workshop and placement process.
Every class created a new knowledge that never existed before, pertaining to the case based discussions and active candidate participation.
I got chance to sit for 3 interviews and I got through 2 of them, one of them being Mcube Financial.
